Manny Pacquiao - Nike Air Trainer 1 Flywire

The Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton fight last night was great…if you’re a Pacquiao fan. Two rounds was all it took for Pacquiao to rock out all over Hatton’s chin, and buckle him down to the mat. This post is dedicated to Pac Man’s awesome win last night!

In the culture of popular sneakers, I can’t remember the last time a signature shoe for a BOXER was featured, or even given a second look. This ideal has changed with the recent explosion of hype around the current Pound for Pound King of boxing. Nike quickly nabbed the Pac Man as one of their featured athletes, and we all know he was already a phenomenon in the Philippines, but now, he has also become a stateside superstar.

What you see here are the Nike Air Trainer 1 Flywire’s designed for and inspired by Manny Pacquiao. These kicks are adorned with Pacquiao’s signature colors of bright red/gold/white as well as his logo on the heel. Along with the shoes, Nike will also be releasing a line of Pac Man gear, including a replica Team Pacquiao Windrunner jacket.

For all you West Coast boxing/sneaker fans, these dropped yesterday, just in time for you to pick them up and then head over to the MGM in Las Vegas to watch Pacquiao dismantle Hatton in the 2nd round.

Nike ACG Wild Peg - Summer 2009

Wild colorways were a huge hit in 2008, especially with many stars catching on and sporting many crazy colors on their feet. Here is another nicely done hybrid shoe in a crazy, but cool colorway - The Nike ACG Wild Peg Hybrid (Air Wildwood + Air Pegasus).

This shoe will be part of Nike’s Summer 2009 Collection. It sports a black leather backdrop with blue, neon yellow, and dark red splashes. The upper is accented with complimentary stitching and puts additional detail into the shoe.

Nike Air Trainer III LE - Charcoal/Volt

It has been hard for Nike to push Training kicks into the mainstream especially with the overflow of popular Basketball styles. One of the exceptions to that trend is the popular and freshly styled Nike Air Trainer III.

The version you see here is the limited edition in a Charcoal/Volt colorway. In our opinion, that bright yellow/green color is one of the best colors to use when accenting a dark gray base, and this shoe continues to prove that point. It features a charcoal upper with neon accents on the swoosh, midsole, tongue, strap, and air unit - not to mention the snakeskin around the toe.

The best news here? These kicks will retail for a cool and affordable $110 in April 2009 at a few quickstrike accounts.
