Inspired by the Phi Slamma Jamma, the nickname given to the great 1982-1984 University of Houston basketball team, which included Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon and Clyde “The Glide” Drexler - who also, both ended up playing for the NBA Houston Rockets late in their careers.
These kicks feature a Houston red colorway and plenty of plaid inserts (Coach Guy V. Lewis always wore plaid pants). Other notable features include the icons on the shoe upper of a broken backboard, Phi Slamma Jamma logo, and Phi Slamma Jamma symbol.
